Neighborhood Produce opens Tuesday!

mem_winterhillI have been following this effort for a long time, and I'm so glad to see that Matt was able to find the space and make it happen. Also, I've needed carrots for a while and I've been putting them off waiting for this to open.
But I'm also a huge fan of lentils (just having made a pot of "Saadi Mussalmani Moong Aur Masoor Dal" out of Madhur Jaffrey's Vegetarian India book) and I hear there are going to be lentils over there!
Anyway, here is the text of the email I got for those of you who might not have been on that mailing. Congrats to Matt & Heather on this new venture!

Almost two years ago I piloted the idea of a community-based, produce-centered, small-format grocery store at the Winter Hill Better Block Festival. The neighborhood response was overwhelmingly supportive - everyone agreed that this was something sorely needed in our often-overlooked neighborhood - so I decided to pursue the idea and Neighborhood Produce was born.

The neighborhood response was overwhelmingly supportive - everyone agreed that this was something sorely needed in our often-overlooked neighborhood - so I decided to pursue the idea and Neighborhood Produce was born.
Now after endless spreadsheets, multiple business plans, online accounting classes, a successful community-funded Kickstarter campaign, leaving my full-time job, weathering heat, wind, rain, and hail at the pop-up market at the Winter Hill Brewery (thanks guys!), a year-long search to find a permanent Winter Hill location, working my way through various city processes, and long hours and late nights designing and building the store, I'm thrilled to announce that we are officially opening our doors this Tuesday, November 21st! Just in time for Thanksgiving!
We'll be open from 8am to 8pm on both Tuesday and Wednesday. We'll be closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving, but will then be open our regular hours starting Friday, and continuing for the next 1,000 years or so.
Regular hours
Monday: 8am - 8pm
Tuesday: Closed
Wed - Fri: 8am to 8pm
Saturday: 9am to 7pm
Sunday: 10am to 7pm

This was truly a project brought to life by the community - and we thank everyone for making it happen and playing a part!
